Yes, it’s that time once again: the day we feature your dating and relationship questions. Although we would like to answer each one personally and with as much detail as possible, the overwhelming amount of inquiries forces us to highlight those that are most interesting to AskMen.com readers; your e-mail may even be answered in the process.

This week’s Q&A focuses on using these techniques overseas, when to be sweet to a girl, and limiting your phone time with her. David DeAngelo, author of Double Your Dating: What Every Man Should Know About How To Be Successful With Women, has your answers.

Do the ideas you teach work in different cultures?

Attraction is attraction, as far as I can tell… whether a girl is in Los Angeles, London, Lima, Syndey or Toronto.

I get HUNDREDS of e-mails a week from all over the world telling success stories that back me up. As a matter of fact, I’d like to thank all my readers from every corner of the planet for staying tuned, and for sending in their questions and stories.

The challenge I often have is that the people sending me stories from around the world usually don’t speak or write English very well, and since I don’t speak their language I can’t include them in these weekly Q&As, but I do try to respond personally when I can.

Of course, you can tweak and customize my ideas a bit so that they fit into your local customs, traditions and benchmarks of proper behavior.

But it you find yourself turning into a needy wuss-bag, you’ve gone too far, man.

Keep the basics of my principles true, and you’ll be heading in the right direction.

Women always say they like guys who are sweet and who do nice things for them, but this seems to go against your techniques. What say you?

I say don’t be too sweet, too soon.

The danger in being overly attentive too quickly is that you risk making her see you as just another needy loser — which obviously isn’t what you want.

Wait a little bit, then slowly sprinkle on some sugar.

For instance, let’s say you’ve been seeing her for a few weeks. Get her a SINGLE flower, and tell her you were thinking of her.

Don’t buy her a dozen roses and bring them with you to the very first meeting. That would send the wrong message COMPLETELY.

Calling to chit-chat is a definite no-no…
